Business Goal
House View aims to streamline the kitchen design process by bridging communication gaps between homeowners, designers, and installers. Through real-time 3D visualization and easy customization, the platform reduces design errors, speeds up decision-making, and improves project efficiency. It not only enhances collaboration but also lays the foundation for future expansion into broader interior design solutions.
Target Users & Pain Points
Interior Designers
High cost and time required to create realistic 3D visuals using CAD tools
Inefficient communication and misunderstandings with clients about materials and design options
Home Owner / Customer
Difficulty visualizing designs from 2D blueprints
Lack of understanding of material properties (e.g., laminate, wood, lacquer finishes)
Kitchen Installation Companies
Lack of clear, finalized design visuals often leads to errors or rework during installation
Misalignment between designers, clients, and installers causes delays and material waste
Discover & Define
Interview Focus: Understand workflows, frustrations, and platform preferences of interior designers.
Key Insights:
Clients value visualization tools for decision-making.
Difficulty in explaining technical details to clients.
Existing tools lack integration of 3D modeling and material preview.
Competitive Analysis
Competitor's Strengths:
Transparent Pricing: Clear costs for all components and services.
Comprehensive Showrooms: Allows users to interact with and customize components.
Opportunities for HouseView:
Address limitations in IKEAβs customization depth by offering highly detailed material and dimension controls.
Integrate advanced rendering for better visual realism.

Defined Visual Language
The core design principle here is a minimal, distraction-free interface that promotes clarity and focus. This approach also allows for scalability, ensuring the design can grow with future features.
UI Style
For the designer view, the focus is on scalability and efficiency, using clear visual aids for smoother onboarding. The customer view prioritizes real-time previews and color-switching with a simplified layout.
Logo Design
Developed multiple concepts for CEO review. The chosen design merges the letter H with an eye icon, symbolizing how HouseView helps users see their dream home.
Typography
System sans-serif fonts ensure readability and consistency across all platforms.
Color Strategy
I chose a cool-toned, low-saturation palette to build a sense of trust and professionalism. Brighter accent colors are used to highlight interactive elements. This strategy is tailored to appeal to modern female homeowners (ages 20β40)while remaining clear for professional users.
User Testing
After building the first version, I invited interior designer to do user testing
Final Design
Outcomes and Key Achievements
We showcased the product at the International Architecture Design Expo, where it received enthusiastic feedback from industry professionals. Many interior designers expressed strong interest and encouraged us to expand the platform beyond kitchens to support a wider range of interior design scenarios.
β¦ This project taught me how to thrive in a fully remote environment.
By establishing a system for recording meeting notes and design decisions early on, I ensured the entire team had a single source of truth which prevented miscommunication and kept our workflow efficient. I also discovered the importance of proactively using collaboration tools to bridge the physical distance between team members.
β¦ I learned the crucial role of subject matter experts in a design process.
The project's success was deeply tied to understanding a niche field. This required me to move beyond traditional user interviews and work closely with field experts. I learned how to structure conversations to extract deep-seated knowledge, translate complex technical information into design requirements, and advocate for user needs while respecting the experts' insights. This collaboration was key to building a solution that was not only usable but also credible and effective.
